UOL adopts the first AWS Outposts in Latin America in a Partner Led model in conjunction with Edge UOL
UOL is the largest company in content, services, and digital products in Brazil, offering over a thousand channels of journalism, information, entertainment, and services. With an 80% coverage (8 out of 10 Brazilians access UOL content every month), the organization has the largest audience among internet media outlets in Brazil.
UOL Content and Services also offer entertainment products (UOL Play, UOL Economia+, and Clube UOL), security and assistance (Antivirus, Technical Support, and UOL Resolve), and digital media solutions (Advertising).
In partnership with Edge UOL, UOL has adopted AWS Outposts in the Partner Led model to promote Edge Computing technology across Brazil. AWS Outposts enhances application performance by extending Cloud Computing to the end user. Moreover, it offers ease of management through APIs, allowing data to remain in locations or regions defined by the customers.

Together, Edge UOL and AWS have modernized UOL’s container services platform applications, which required low-latency data transfer to other components of the data center.
Our challenge
To promote a standardized environment with a homogeneous management toolchain both in the AWS cloud and on-premise environment, using the same APIs and applications available in the public cloud to manage workloads on Outposts, thus maintaining a consistent IT development and operation experience in the Hybrid Edge model.
