Blue Tree hotel chain migrates to Edge VMware Cloud in 30 days with support from Edge UOL.
Blue Tree Hotels is a group of hotels and resorts with 23 undertakings spread across strategic destinations from north to south of Brazil. With Edge UOL’s help, the company migrated to VMware Cloud throughout the national territory, moving from hosting in an old computing environment to a more agile cloud with higher processing capacity. Now, with a private cloud 100% based on VMware solutions and specialized analysts offering support 24/7, the whole hotel network performance has improved.
Our challenge
To implement Edge VMware Cloud, we performed the migration in a short timeframe so as not to affect the customer’s core operations. One of the key services was the hotel chain’s database, which required minimal downtime during the migration window.
How we solved it
- We performed the migration using machine replication technology, ensuring the copy and upgrade while the services were running;
- We prepared the entire infrastructure of the database servers on Edge VMware Cloud, performing restores and synchronization of the Oracle databases;
- We adjusted in parallel to the vCloud VPNs of all Blue Tree units with NSX Firewall configuration involving Rules, SSL VPN, and Policies configuration;
- We were supported by two Innovation Studios: AI Operations, focused on IT integrations and automation, and Virtualization Technologies, focused on cloudification processes and virtualization of systems and environments;
- We automated the entire migration process through scripts using APIs, checking images, systems, applications, and the data consistency of the database servers.
