Companies join forces to offer innovative solutions and transform the digital customer experience
Edge UOL, a Brazilian company specializing in IT infrastructure services, announced the expansion of its cloud services portfolio. This initiative is the result of a partnership with Oracle, a globally recognized company for its cloud solutions and advanced technologies.
Edge UOL boasts high expertise in service management as evidenced by its leadership in the ISG Provider Lens™ Private/Hybrid Cloud – Data Center Services study in the Managed Hosting and Managed Services for Large Accounts and Midmarket quadrants.
“With the new offerings developed in partnership with Oracle, we are scaling our capabilities in providing innovative managed infrastructure and application services to help corporations modernize their business environments with the best cost-effectiveness, compliance, and managed approach,” explains Rodrigo Rangel Lobo, COO of Edge UOL.
Edge UOL products have been created to address the increasing demands in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), which involve migration, modernization, security, resilience, cost management, or optimization. These services feature proprietary methodologies while adhering to a set of OCI cloud best practices (Oracle Expertises).
Here are some examples:
- Migration and Modernization: The service enables companies of various sizes and market segments to migrate their infrastructure to different managed environments within the OCI cloud. It offers various migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor, repurchase, retire), Rightsizing (right-sizing of resources), Governance (cloud foundation), and Business Case (cloud costs, migration, and supporting tools).
- Well Architected: This encompasses a set of activities that assess architectures and recommend the best way to implement and manage environments following cloud utilization best practices. The main advantage is creating a secure, resilient, redundant, recoverable, highly available, and appropriately sized environment at a suitable cost.
- Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE): This service provides a multifunctional team responsible for creating and implementing cloud strategies, policies, and guidelines. The team ensures consistent and standardized cloud implementation to help clients achieve their business goals effectively and efficiently. Key features include recurring environment analysis through Well Architected, innovative management via proprietary products like Edge.UMA (ChatBot, notifications, and phone triggers), and Edge.Blackhole (management of Oracle and SQL Server databases), as well as automations executed through DevOps tools.
- ArqFinOps (Cloud Financial Operations): This comprises practices aimed at providing clients real-time visibility into cloud costs via a centralized dashboard created using OCI cloud services or partner tools. The service aims to optimize costs through resource resizing or infrastructure modernizations, along with applying security policies that define resource types, tagging, and creation permissions.
- Hybrid Edge and Hybrid Cloud: This comprises implementing services that integrate OCI cloud with various public, private, or even on-premises infrastructures. These products leverage partnerships (telecom operators, data centers, hardware manufacturers, and points of presence) to assist throughout the process.
- Hardware and Licensing: The product evaluates the client’s environment in terms of licensing and provides cost reductions, such as migrating from Oracle Enterprise to Oracle Standard or even to an Autonomous Database.
“The solutions now being offered drive Digital Transformation and deliver exceptional experiences to customers. By combining Edge UOL’s expertise in infrastructure service management with our global leadership in cloud solutions, we are prepared to modernize business environments and contribute to the continuous advancement of corporations in the digital era,” states Danni Mnitentag, Vice President of Alliances and Channels for Oracle Latin America.
In technical and infrastructure terms of the partnership, Edge UOL has invested in over 300 Oracle certifications and established a new business unit dedicated to Oracle service offerings. “These services reinforce our commitment to delivering comprehensive solutions that drive innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and meet the increasing business demands and market requirements,” says Lobo.
